The Train
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I was out walking Capone and was inspired to put my thoughts into words tonight.
As we walked down the street and he searched out those little blue berries that I beg him not to eat, we hear that sound that becomes more and more familiar each week. It starts faintly and quickly becomes quite loud, but even Capone has come to ignore it and...

A Long Time
“A short time’s a long time when your mind just won’t let it go.”

There Is No Other Stream
“Although the sight of water made her feel ten times thirstier than before, she didn’t rush forward and drink. She stood as still as if she had been turned into stone, with her mouth wide open. And she had a very good reason; just on this side of the stream lay the lion.
It lay with its head raised and its two fore-paws out in front of it, like the lions in Trafalgar Square. She knew at once...
It's Only Rain →
I always knew there was sun shining somewhere for me. Living in the shadows of the darkest clouds sure does make me appreciate the shining sun in my life. Finally.

It’s where I always want to be….
Inspiration was a necessity today.
“If you do right, if you do what you’re supposed to do, everything is going to work out in the end. If it’s not working….it’s not the end yet. Forget about the past and your mistakes. Make the rest of your life the best of your life.”
- Eric Thomas
Run in such a way....
“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body...

Interest vs. Commitment
“There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.”
- Kenneth Blanchard
In the midst....
Of this extremely busy week and upcoming weekend, I’m stopping for just a minute. Just a few seconds before heading out to lift to stop and acknowledge how good things are becoming for me. I’m fitter than I’ve been in years, healthier too, both spiritually and physically. I sleep well each night, and wake each day looking forward to it rather than dreading what’s coming...

Dreamland.
When you wake up each day you can either go back to sleep and dream your dreams, or get up and chase them. I’m putting my shoes on.
Purpose?
This blog was originally started to serve as inspiration for others who follow me in my path to a healthier lifestyle. Funny thing is, it got dangerously close to a public journal that didn’t need to be public. Completely unacceptable.
Inspiration comes from drive, perseverance, positivity, and faith. There’s no place for negativity in that.
I’m blessed to see that and...
Life Lesson.
“You are responsible for exactly who, what, and where you are in life. That will be just as true this time next year.” ~ Kekich Credo
No one’s to blame for success and failure in our lives except ourselves. Period. We live and die with the choices we make. We make our own bed, and we have to sleep in it.
When we choose one thing, and neglect other things in our life, we...

Marathon Training Day 1
I put in around 600 miles running over the last year. I decided last night that it was time for me to put it all together and get ready for my two goals, running a half marathon and full marathon. Today was day one of the plan. By mid December I’ll be ready to go for the full 26.2 miles. Thrilled to have set my schedule and excited to see the work that I’ve put in over the last...

The Grind
“Now it’s time to redefine the grind. This is the part where life demands that you make a lifelong vow, come hell or high water, that you’re willing to pay the price where you earn your spot with effort, with sweat, with blood, and with tears.
So you say you want it as bad as you want to breathe. Then it’s showtime. It’s examination time. It’s time to get tested, to test your will, your...

Gotta get some sleep!
“Sleep is a significant health concern and just as important as nutrition, exercise and stress management. While we sleep at night, we heal and recuperate from the wear and tear of our day. Unfortunately, more and more people find it necessary to cut back on their sleep. The consequences for their health and quality of life can be devastating. In fact, sleep deprivation has become such a...

No Pity Fitness: Diet →
nopityfitness:
This is probably what I hate the most about the fitness industry. Everybody seems to preaches one style of diet as the only one you should follow, and if you eat any other way, you’re wrong.
We’ll let me in on a little secret… Paleo, Atkins, High Carb, Keto, IIFYM (if it fits in your macros),…
Well said!!!!
